Guaranteeing Internet access for all guests at Le Fin Gourmand

In 2022, Nicolas Szele and his wife invested in renovating the first floor of their restaurant, Le Fin Gourmand, in Luxembourg City, in order to open a space dedicated to professional events. By using DEEP’s ConnectedOffice offer, they found a solution that guaranteed sufficient, high-quality connectivity for all their visitors. While waiting for the fibre optics, a 5G network was set up.

The Fin Gourmand has been delighting numerous customers’ taste buds since 1988, the year the parents of the current owner, Nicolas Szele, opened the restaurant in Luxembourg. Nicolas joined them in 2010 before taking over the family business alongside his wife in 2021. ‘At that time, we wanted to invest to support the business’ growth. Over the lockdown period, in 2020, we opened a business in Mondercange, “L’Épicerie du Fin Gourmand”, followed by “La Table de l’Épicerie” once we were able to welcome customers back to the table’, explains the owner. ‘In 2022, we added a space for organising banquets and professional events, seminars and conferences at Le Fin Gourmand’.

Today, the family business employs a team of 34 people in total.

An elegant space for any event, in person or hybrid

It was after opening this space dedicated to hosting seminars and conferences, as well as product and service presentations, that Nicolas Szele turned to the DEEP team. ‘We wanted to offer a venue that was elegant and pleasant, with bright, comfortable rooms and an impeccable level of service’, he explains. ‘After lockdown, most of the events took place in a hybrid format, with some of the audience present on site and others attending remotely. It was therefore important to be able to offer equipment that facilitated the transmission of streaming presentations and to have sufficient connectivity’.

A 5G network, while waiting for fibre optics

The problem is that Le Fin Gourmand does not have access to fibre optic internet, as the connection requires roadworks that have so far been impossible to carry out. To meet the needs of the companies and visitors it welcomes to its premises, Le Fin Gourmand turned to DEEP for a solution. ‘I found people who were attentive to our needs, who looked for ways to meet our requirements’, continues Nicolas Szele. ‘The challenge was not only to be able to stream the conferences, but also to provide our visitors with high-quality connectivity for all their needs. The difficulty lies in the layout of the property, which is an old building with thick walls. Our partner's technicians came to analyse the situation on site. They did very good diagnostic work beforehand which led them to propose the most appropriate solution’.

A tailor-made solution

DEEP's teams used 5G antennas to ensure optimum coverage throughout the facility. This option is part of the operator's ConnectedOffice offering, which aims to meet all the connectivity needs of professionals. ‘Thanks to the solution we have put in place, we can guarantee a service that meets our customers‘ requirements’, says Nicolas Szele. ‘Beyond that, DEEP takes care of all our needs, from telephony to managing and securing our e-mail addresses. In the past, our e-mails often fell into our customers’ spam folders. Our partner, who now manages all our needs and guarantees us top-quality support, makes sure that our emails reach their destination’.

The other major advantage of the solution is that all connectivity requirements are managed by a single partner. For business owners, this means easier monitoring and less administrative work.
